About Event

SGI Friends, on Wednesday and Thursday (April 8-9, 2026), PT. Sinar General Industries held a Big Farmers Field Day in Muara Telang, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra.

Activity Objective:

To provide tangible evidence of the results of PT. Sinar General Industries' rice crop technology package.

To provide new agricultural information for farmers.

> 200 farmers attended the event, organized by the SGI South Sumatra Regional Team.

Showcasing a comparison of PT. SGI's Demonstration Farm results and farmer control,

Socializing PT. SGI products,

Discussing rice pest and disease control,

Direct sales with prizes.

Banyuasin Ranks 1st Nationally in Rice Production

Production Data:

Based on the 2025 Statistics Indonesia (BPS) survey, Banyuasin's rice production reached 1,177,649 tons, an increase of 0.23 million tons or 23.98% compared to 2024's rice production of 948,088.97 tons.

Agricultural Potential:

Through the Food Crops and Horticulture Service, Banyuasin is improving its land by converting swamps into rice fields. This step is intended to increase rice production and thus create strong food security.

Challenges:

Although Banyuasin is the national food barn, farmers still face a number of significant challenges to maintaining productivity, including road access, climate risks, fertilizer availability, and pests and diseases.

The biggest challenge today is no longer land size, but rather how to improve swamp irrigation systems and ensure farmers do not suffer losses during abundant harvests.
